I will update my blog on monday with LOTS of images, so stay tuned! :D

Button, button, who's got the button?

I do!! :D Woohoo! Thanks to the lovely Abby of abbydid I am now the owner of a bunch of brand- spankin' new 1 inch pin-backed buttons. I used Illustrator to do simple color sketches of some of my plush characters, and voila! Buttons. I think my love of buttons and stickers comes of being a child in the 80s, when button and sticker collecting was all the rage. Ahhhh, I can smell the pickle scratch n' sniff stickers now...

How do you get one of these shiny new Plush Goodness buttons, you ask? Simple! Just make a purchase from my etsy shop, and you get one free with your purchase. They will also be available to buy as a set as well- just working out the packaging. ;)

Oh yeah, and I'm also feverishly working on trying to get new stuff in the shop as well as finish up some commissions AND get ready for Maker Faire, so here's a WIP shot to prove that I'm not out enjoying the spring sunshine and slacking off. :)
Enjoy the rest of your week, everybody! Here's hoping spring is visiting you too.

Icarus

Icarus was made for the Plush Team's World Mythology Challenge. Icarus is the son of too-smart Dedalus, who got them both imprisoned in a tower over the ocean. To escape, clever Dedalus made them both wings from feathers and wax. They flew out the window and escaped. Unfortunately Icarus did not heed his father's warning about flying too close to the sun, and the heat from the suns rays melted the wax holding the feathers together, and Icarus plunged to his death in the ocean.

Icarus measures 21 inches wide: wing-tip to wing-tip (53.5cm) and measures 11 inches tall. (28cm)
Oh- and his wings aren't removable, they are sewn onto his body for support.

I had fun trying to figure out how to make the wings, and he's ended up being one of my favorite plush that I've made to date. Even though he's one of my favorites and I would have liked to keep him for myself, he is up for adoption in the Plush Team's etsy shop, along with all the other Challenge pieces.

The Plush Team needs your help voting for the winner of this Challenge, so head on over to the PT blog starting tuesday April 13th and vote for your favorites! There are so many good ones to choose from, it may be hard...
