Sketch for mystery project

I checked with the show organizer, and I can post the sketch of the piece I've finished for the show. I'll have to wait until next month to post the final product though. It was a long 2 week process to complete the plush, but I made it! Now for some time off from sewing. At least until I get back and work madly on my piece for the next show in august in LA. More on that when I get back. :)

Mysterious new project...

Sorry for the lack of posts lately- this new "mystery project" has taken up all of my time. I'll be able to post more images and give details next month sometime. This is just a small part of the larger project. We're off to the beautiful Pacific Northwest for 10 days of vacation starting sunday! WOOHOO! Let's hope we don't have 90 degree temperatures while we're up there. I'm jonesing for some RAIN!

Off to Crammed Organisms!

Phew! I had time for a quick group photo before everyone got shipped off to St. Louis. I'm taking a few days off, and then it's back to work. Thanks to Chelle for her timely computer assistance, as well as her tag fastening ability! :)
I had A LOT of fun importing and cropping my plush photos for hang tags/business cards on the MOO website, they measure approximately 30 cm X 70 cm (smaller than your average business card), and come in packs of 100. I can see how people become addicted to making MOO cards! If you haven't checked out MOO yet, now's the time. They are based in London, so it can take a little while to get your order (5-10 days by regular airmail to the States) unless you choose express shipping (1-3 days). The print quality is really good, and there's a nice matte finish to the cards.
Now it's time to go and get caught up on "Lost!"

The 3 Billy Goats Gruff

Billy, Gramps, and Milly love the taste of the grass and the sight of all the lovely flowers on the other side of Ted the Troll's bridge. Unfortunately this means dealing with daily threats of becoming Ted's lunch. Milly gets by Ted without being eaten because she is so cute, while Gramps convinces Ted he's to old and stringy to eat. Billy gets the brunt of Ted's hunger, but manages (if he can't outsmart him) to get past him by applying his horns to various parts of Ted's anatomy. You'd think that Ted would learn his lesson so he wouldn't have to go through this routine every day, but Trolls aren't very smart, and have really bad short-term memory.

Ted: The Troll-Under-the-Bridge

Ted the Troll demands a toll from everyone who crosses HIS bridge.
(that line sounds like a nursery rhyme. :) )
Anyway, if you don't want to pay his toll he threatens to eat you, so you'd better hope someone bigger and beefier is coming along the road behind you that you can convince Ted to bother instead!

A Quick shout-out to Crammed Organisms

Hey there! Just want to remind everyone out there that the Crammed Organisms Group Plush Show is happening in St. Louis in June, and they have listed all the artists participating up on their website, of which I am happy to say I will be one. Click their link under "Plush Goodness" to get to the site. The Little Match Girl, Rapunzel, Goldilocks, and the 3 Bears will all be off to St. Louis, along with a few others yet to be finished. Congrats to everyone who got in! Now back to work...

Goldilocks and the 3 Bears

Pesky neighbor Goldilocks will sneak into the home of Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear just for kicks. The last time she did this, Goldi ate Baby Bear's porridge (which he was actually happy about since he hates porridge), broke his chair, and had a nap in his bed (he was not so keen about this) before she was discovered. Who knows what this neighborhood menace will be up to next?

Rapunzel

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your long hair!"
Rapuzel is imprisoned in a tower by an old witch (because her mother stole some veggies out of the witch's garden, and the mother traded her firstborn to the witch instead of becoming the witch's slave herself...) who lets herself in and out of the tower by climbing Rapunzel's long hair. All ends well when our heroine is rescued by a handsome Prince who kills the witch, enabling them to live happily ever after.
